1. BOOMJOY Spray Mop P12
Using the BOOMJOY Spray Mop P12 is a pleasure as it cleans floors smoothly! And it doesn’t need a wall to stand!
The BOOMJOY Spray Mop P12’s head has almost the same surface area (36 x 10cm) as the Deerma TM1000 Fiber Mop (Spray, Wet And Dry). But the BOOMJOY Spray Mop P12 has a longer pole (145cm vs 122cm)!
However, this spray mop has a small water capacity (220ml vs the 350ml) compared to the Deerma TM1000 Fiber Mop .
So, the Deerma TM1000 Fiber Mop (Spray, Wet And Dry) would be a better alternative for larger households. Cost-wise, the Deerma TM1000 Fiber Mop is cheaper by ~RM20.
Nevertheless, the 3cm-high mop head of the BOOMJOY Spray Mop P12 allows this spray mop to reach tight spaces easily! Like beneath beds or tables!
And this solid spray mop cleans dust well! Although a little more pushing is required to remove stains.
We like the effectiveness of the spray function. It sprays in a fan shape, covering a considerably wide area!
If you don’t mind the weight (~0.9kg) the BOOMJOY Spray Mop P12 is suitable small homes and daily cleaning, where the floor type is tile or laminate. It’s also our pick for versatile cleaning!
- Type: Flat Spray Mop
- Mop Cloth Material: Microfiber
- Water Tank Capacity: 220ml
- Feature: 360° rotational mop, water spray, hands-free self-wringing

- Less energy needed (bucket free)
- Suitable for wooden and laminate floors
- Pads are reusable and washable
- Long pole
Cons:
- No instructions provided (you can contact the seller for information)
- Small water capacity – frequent refills
2. Oasis Home 2in1 Flat Mop
You may have many parts to assemble with the Oasis Home 2in1 FLAT MOP but they are of acceptable quality for the low price (~RM30) you pay!
The price is for both the bucket and mop! So if you ever need a replacement for the bucket or mop, that could be a hindrance!
That aside, the mop is light and can clean the floor well! This flat mop is available in different colors and best used on smooth floors. Including hardwood, laminate, and vinyl floors!
Moreover, the design of the slim bucket allows for hands-free wringing and easy storage!
Compared to the Old Generation Oasis mop, the 2020 New Generation Oasis Home 2in1 FLAT MOP features a bucket with a 60% larger capacity!
Overall, the Oasis Home 2in1 FLAT MOP is a budget-friendly hands-free mop that is sufficient for a single-story household. Furniture legs however, are its weakness as it has poor maneuverability.
And if you need to mop large spaces, a better alternative is the 2021 Plus Version Oasis Home 2in1 Extra Large FLAT MOP. Which lets you cover more ground faster!
- Type: Flat Mop
- Mop Cloth Material: Microfiber
- Bucket Capacity: 8L
- Feature: Advanced self-squeeze
- technology, 360° rotation
- Length: 128cm
- Price: ~RM30
Pros:
- Includes spare pad and bucket
- Affordable
- Replacement pads are sold
- Easy to store
Cons:
- Mop and bucket not sold separately
- Not easy to control the direction at times
- Mop can get stuck when drying it in the bucket
3. 3M Scotch Brite Single Spin Mop T6
3M Scotch Brite Single Spin Mop T6 is easy to use and does not take up much space! It’s equally great for cleaning the floor, or your windows (without grills)!
A built-in washing axis in the bucket removes any dirt, hair, and dust! Leaving you with a clean mop head without dirtying your hands!
Moreover, the shaft in the bottom of the bucket is removable for convenient cleaning!
The spinning mechanism works as long as you use short and quick strokes!
But due to the 4L capacity of the bucket, we would not recommend the 3M Scotch Brite Single Spin Mop T6 for larger homes with a lot of ground to cover (i.e. frequent refills needed)!
Removing stains requires a little more effort with this spin mop too. So it’s better for daily cleaning!
However, cleaning corners is easy as its round-shaped mop head is bendable! Its 360° rotating head also allows you to reach small and narrow spaces efficiently without having to bend over!
For small homes with lots of obstacles, the 3M Scotch Brite Single Spin Mop T6 will be an excellent choice for daily cleaning. And if you are tired of cheap mops that break easily!
Mop demonstrations:

4. Self-Wash And Squeeze Dry Flat Mop With Bucket
Self-Wash And Squeeze Dry Flat Mop With Bucket is cheap, compact, incredibly lightweight, and quick-drying!
A unique feature of the Self-Wash And Squeeze Dry Flat Mop With Bucket is the bucket which conveniently separates the dirty mop water from the clean detergent water!
But the narrow bucket is prone to fall over or come up with the mop, if you don’t fill it up with enough water! And the plastic material is easily damaged by rough use.
Being a flat mop, it is suitable for wooden floors. And since it’s small, you can store it easily in your bathroom or storeroom. Moving it up and down stairs also takes less energy!
When dry, it functions well for cleaning dust, although it’s not that effective to remove stains! Hence, this flat mop is best suited for light daily cleaning!
Do look at other buyer’s pictures before buying this mop as it’s much smaller than it looks! Not an issue for a studio or small apartment!
However, if you have a lot of furniture in your space, this mop is not very good at getting around them! For better maneuverability, it’s better to invest in the 3M Scotch Brite Single Spin Mop T6!
- Type: Flat Mop
- Mop Cloth Material: Microfiber
- Bucket Capacity: –
- Feature: Easy squeeze dry, double drainage design
- Length: 128cm
- Price: ~RM18

5. 3M Scotch Brite Single Spin Mop With Bucket
The 3M Scotch Brite Single Spin Mop With Bucket is not heavy. The dual bucket configuration may look strange but you can watch their instructional video to learn how to use it!
This spin mop reaches tight spaces easily. Its spin dry mechanism functions well at drying. And the mop cleans floor stains efficiently!
Its small size makes this spin mop perfect for apartments or small houses!
Moreover, the replaceable microfiber mop head is thin but effective at absorbing! We like that you can just step on the head to remove or replace the pad!
However, mopping sideways can cause the mop to flip over at times. And the spinning mechanism sounds rather loud.
Watch the mop in action:
If you prefer a string mop to a flat mop, the 3M Scotch Brite Single Spin Mop With Bucket is an alternative to the similarly priced flat mop, 3M Scotch Brite Single Spin Mop T6.

6. Riino 360° Hands Free Double Sided Microfiber Flat Mop
If you want your mop to be completely dry after using the hands-free wringing mechanism, the Riino 360° Hands Free Double Sided Microfiber Flat Mop is not for you!
On that note, you can use it as it is while it is dry. For picking up hair and dust!
The long handle (153cm) means you won’t have backaches from bending! Even if you’re tall!
Furthermore, the mop head is long! It’s the same length as that of the 2021 Plus Version Oasis Home 2in1 Extra Large FLAT MOP (38cm)! For a larger surface area and hence, faster cleaning!
Plus, you can use both sides to mop!
It doesn’t come with a bucket though. And the drying mechanism can get stuck sometimes!
However, Riino 360° Hands Free Double Sided Microfiber Flat Mop is particularly good at cleaning corners and tight spaces beneath beds!
The head is not nearly as flexible as we would like though. But it only costs ~RM20~

7. Deerma TM1000 Fiber Mop (Spray, Wet and Dry)
Replacing its predecessor, the TB800:
The Deerma TM1000 Fiber Mop is sleek and leaves little to complain about! Except that it works best if you vacuum or sweep your floors beforehand!
This sturdy flat mop has a steel handle with a solid grip. Furthermore, it’s light and glides smoothly on floors. It is easy to handle.
You don’t need to carry a bucket with this flat mop:
The spray function works well with little water. So, besides saving water, your floors get dry quickly! Which is great especially if there’re little kids or elders around!
Compared to the previous TB800, the TM1000 has a wider spray angle and releases more water too. Its spray distance can cover a wide range of 95cm! Both models have a 350ml water capacity.
It’s suitable on wooden floors, carpets, as well as marble and granite tiles!
However, it’s not very good at scrubbing off stains. Which limits it to daily cleaning. Still, for those looking to do away with the inconvenience of a bucket, the Deerma TM1000 Fiber Mop will fit the bill!
And at a reasonable price too!
- Type: Flat Mop
- Mop Cloth Material: Microfiber
- Water Tank Capacity: 350ml
- Feature: 360° Rotational Mop, Water Spray

Best Electric Mop
If you’re keen on getting the best electric mop in Malaysia, there are a lot more options!
But to keep this post concise, we will just mention 3!
8. Corvan picaMop T7
Wireless and highly efficient:
The Corvan picaMop T7 can pick up a considerable amount of dust too! Thanks to its powerful motor! And unlike other mops, you will not need to exert yourself to scrub even stubborn stains off!
Note that it’s not suitable for carpets, rough surfaces, or staircases.
However, this electric mop leaves your floors with little to no water streaks! Furthermore, it cleans effectively in circular motions, greatly reducing mopping time! It’s not too noisy either.
A trigger for the water spray lets you mop continuously without having to run back to a bucket! In fact, the water tank is built into the mop!
Plus, you don’t have to keep spraying; it’s enough to make sure that the mop pads are still wet!
Adjusting the rotation speed according to your floor space requires a little practice though. Generally, you’ll want to use a slower spinning speed in narrow spaces or places with obstacles.
What we really appreciate is that the reusable mop pads are machine washable. Moreover, the mop body allows for flexible movement! It can tilt forward, backward, as well as sideways!
You’ll be looking forward to cleaning your house with the Corvan picaMop T7 in your arsenal! If you can get past the steep price tag first!

9. Mijia Youpin SWDK-D260 Handheld Electric Mop
You’ll likely need an adaptor to use the Mijia Youpin SWDK-D260 Handheld Electric Mop!
The water tank is built into the square head of the mop. Which has a nozzle to dispense out water uniformly.
Watch it in action:
So there’s no need for a bucket – just like the Kaisite Cordless Electric Sweeper Mop HCP–01 or Corvan picaMop T7!
The head can bend flat at a 90° angle! Useful for mopping under tables! The square-shaped mop head makes cleaning corners easier too!
Its spray distance is relatively short, however (Just 10cm). But this means your furniture won’t get wet! Which is a disadvantage of the Kaisite Cordless Electric Sweeper Mop HCP–01!
This electric mop cleans with frontward and backward vibrating motions. Effective for cleaning stains, leaving floors looking shiny!
Also, it is lighter (by ~1kg) and less bulky than the Corvan PicaMop T7. So, it’s easier to store and maneuver!
Due to its lightness and ease of use, this electric mop is suitable for young and old people to use as well as pregnant women!
However, it doesn’t work as quietly as the Corvan PicaMop T7! You might have noticed that the warranty is extremely short too! Which is a shame since it costs more than RM300!
If you don’t mind the risk, the Mijia Youpin SWDK-D260 Handheld Electric Mop is a comfortable and affordable electric mop that has a slimmer and more attractive profile than its competitors.
Its scrubbing power is strong and it has enough run time for a small home!

The water spray is strong so do be careful not to wet your furniture!
Furthermore, you can position it anywhere as the upright safety lock design allows it to stand without any support in automatic standby mode.
At ~RM260, this is the cheapest electric mop in our list!
And we think that the Kaisite Cordless Electric Sweeper Mop HCP–01 is great value for money as long as you consider its limited water capacity, long charge time (3.5 hours), and that it’s not quiet (60dB)!

Best Steam Mop
We have a dedicated post on the best steam mops in Malaysia – here is just 1 of them to start you off!
PS: Steam mops are not the same as steam cleaners!
11. Black & Decker FSM1605 Steam Mop
Not much waiting is needed before you can use the Black & Decker FSM1605 Steam Mop!
Besides getting rid of dust, it has the ability to remove stains like oil spills and dried lizard droppings swiftly with much ease!
And with this steam mop, you may not even need to use detergent! The floor dries fast too!
Cleaning corners and spaces beneath furniture is a breeze! Because its mop head can be rotated at a 180° angle! And it glides smoothly even on carpets and wooden floors!
However, cleaning large homes is a tad inconvenient with this steam mop:
It uses up water quickly and you will need to refill the water tank constantly! Furthermore, the cable is not that long!
This is not a light mop, it weighs almost 3kg. And because of that, you may just want to leave it downstairs or upstairs.
The Black & Decker FSM1605 Steam Mop is ideal for a small apartment that requires more than just light cleaning (e.g. lots of pets, frequent spills, carpets, etc)!
Considering the reputable brand, the price point for the Black & Decker FSM1605 Steam Mop is reasonable. In fact, it’s one of the cheaper steam mops you can get!

Types Of Mops
This simple cleaning appliance has come a long way from what our grandparents used!
1. Conventional Mop
There are essentially 4 types:
1.1. String Mop
Your plain old string mop! Need we say more?
Cheap, gets the job done, takes little space. But requires a lot of squeezing effort on your part to prevent slipping accidents!
The looped variety is more durable since the ends are protected from fraying. Looped ends also provide a larger surface area. Which speeds up cleaning!
Either way, these string mops are superb for soaking up spills in a small area!
Their high absorbency does mean they are often heavy once wet! And they can take a long time to dry. A solution to that is the strip mop – made of synthetic material that dries much faster!
Although, strip mops are typically not as absorbent as string mops!
1.2. Flat Mop/ Dust Mop
You may be familiar with these mops too. The kind of mop with a flat head that you can attach a microfiber rag/pad to.
Microfiber pads last longer than cotton string mops. And they’re better at removing microbes!
But can be damaged easily with stronger detergents and bleaches. If you clean them well, you can reuse them too.
While less suitable for scrubbing, these mops are great at cleaning angled corners! They are light enough to use for cleaning walls and ceilings too!
However, their best trait is picking up lint. And since they are light, they are suitable for daily use.
1.3. Sponge Mop
With built-in wringers, you don’t have to wring water out of the mop with your hands! Great for those with skin allergies and backaches!
Lightweight sponge mops are highly convenient and comfortable to use! Sometimes, the head can be removed and replaced.
Which is ideal since the sponges wear out fast. And are prone to getting smelly or discolored fast (i.e. bacteria build up)!
Sponge mops scrub stains quite well too! And they’re highly absorbent. Thus, suitable for cleaning linoleum floors, tiles, and walls.
1.4. Spin Mop
Doubtless, you’ve seen promoters at malls demonstrating these!
They use a spinning mechanism (usually incorporated into the bucket and activated with a foot pedal):
To get excess water out from a string mop that is built to fit that bucket! So you will not have to get your hands dirty!
With spin mops, you can easily control how wet you want your mop to be! But depending on the spinning mechanism, they tend to be heavier than the simpler mops mentioned previously.
2. Electric Mop
For now, there are 2 types of electric mops:
Both with microfiber mop pads and refillable tanks! No more dipping and no more buckets!
2.1. Spray Mop
You can control the amount of water you use with a spray mop. And you don’t need to carry a heavy bucket of water!
Spray mops need little water to clean. Perfect for hardwood or vinyl floors which are prone to damage by excess water!
2.2. Steam Mop
They look like the offspring of a flat mop and an upright vacuum cleaner. Steam has the additional benefit of disinfecting your floors while you clean! Without relying on cleaning detergents!
There is a heat up period before you can use the mop (15-30 seconds).
By now, you’re probably in a state of confusion:
So we’ll point you in the right direction with our how-to guide (scroll further down this post)!
How To Choose The Best Mop
1. Budget
There’s a huge price difference between manual mops and electric mops! (e.g. RM20 vs RM200-800).
2. Ease Of Use
Weight is important if you will be using the mop frequently. Don’t forget to consider the bucket too! Especially if you have to carry the mop upstairs!
Is it easy to turn corners with the mop? Does it require a lot of effort to remove extra water?
3. What Are You Trying To Clean
- Small areas or large areas? Electric mops can save you so much time for the latter!
- Walls and floors (especially tiles) – flat mops
- Floor spills and small areas – string mops
- Upstairs/ downstairs –maybe you can get two mops for this
- Frequency of cleaning – how often do you need to clean your floors? Do you live in a dusty area?
- Simple, quick cleaning – dust mops
- Stains – sponge mops
- Floor type – wet mops are not suitable for floors that get damaged easily by water (e.g. hardwood floors)
4. Your Height
An adjustable pole will save you from having to bend over. Again, take note of the weight. Too heavy and you can strain your back!
5. Cleanliness / Hygiene
Consider how long it takes the mop to dry! There’s no point in cleaning your floors with a mop that is covered in bacteria!
When your mop gets worn out, replaceable heads are an easy way out. Without having to get a brand new mop!
Or you may want to invest in a steam mop if hygiene is your top priority! And if you want to cut down on your usage of strong detergents!
