3. Nak.Ed Farm
This is actually a small zero waste store in Penang but they have their own skin care as well. They started in 2015 and their affordable handmade products are made in small batches!
Their mineral sunscreen is their top seller. In addition to this, they have soaps, an all-in-one moisturizer, body soap, mineral tooth powder, a toner/ face mist, lip scrub, and a face or body scrub!
All their skin care products have very few ingredients (less than 10). And are without preservatives or artificial fragrance! Although they do occasionally use essential oils to scent their products.

4. Handmade Heroes
Handmade Heroes have even attracted international attention from Harper’s Bazaar and Buzzfeed! But this natural skin care company in Malaysia actually began in Singapore.
And they are proud to say that all of their 100% natural products are vegan and cruelty free! Without the use of parabens, alcohol, or preservatives!
Bestsellers include The Ultimate Bakuchiol Booster Oil as well as their face and lip masks!
They may not have as many products as other brands on this list. But there are balms for mothers and babies too.

5. Tanamera
While it now focuses on home spa products like body masks, massage oils and scrubs:
Tanamera was originally created by 3 siblings in 2000. Starting out with natural soaps and essential oil mists, inspired by Malay beauty treatments and tropical ingredients!
Eventually expanding to ~80 products (excluding their spa line) but never straying from their dream to make wholly natural products that do not contain any preservatives, artificial colors or fragrance!

As far as skin care goes, Root Remedies believes that less is more. Founded in Malaysia by co-founders Sian Chiew and Leland Lo in 2015:
Root Remedies strive to provide products that are at least 90% natural. And they skip out on preservatives, synthetic foaming agents, and artificial fragrances in the process!
The oils that they use undergo as little processing as possible too so that their natural benefits are better retained. Their product line includes hair, body, and face care.

The Mineraw is big on saving the environment and skin care with natural ingredients! As the founder Jidienne Ibañez, did not see the sense in spending money on overpriced skincare that used chemical fillers and plastic packaging!
Thus, the first products (Glow Serum, Toner, Purify and Honey Glow) were born. And later paved the way for The Mineraw!

The Olive Tree has a similar background story with a realization that there was a lack of plant based and natural skin care in Malaysia. Despite the demand for it.
Because such skin care was beneficial for sensitive skin – the founder’s own kids had eczema. For which a potential trigger was petrochemicals in conventional body care products!
Something the family discovered when they started using natural soaps they brought back from Australia, a country that is no stranger to organic skin care products.

The founders of ARO are best friends in real life, beginning their journey in July 2016. One with experience in conservation, and the other with knowledge in PR and branding!
Both share a love for nature and Sarawak. The name of the brand comes from the local dialect, Bisaya. Where Aro means “have”.
