There are so many car mats to choose from in Malaysia. We did some online research and ended up going with ENZO Car Mat.
And this post details our experience using this product and brand for the first time.
How did we make our decision to get the ENZO car mat? How does it compare with other popular car mat brands? And would we recommend it? Find out below!

The Buying Process Of ENZO Car Mat
We purchased our set of ENZO car mats online on 8 August, 2023. And shortly received an email of the confirmation order.
The confirmation order email has the following disclaimer:
“If you’ve purchased the ENZO Car Mat, please understand that it is a fully customised and made-to-order product, production and delivery of your custom mat will take around 7 to 10 days excluding weekends and public holidays.”
Once your car mat has been handed over to a courier service, you will get a WhatsApp notification from ENZO team along with the tracking code.
Additionally, you will receive an email from the assigned courier.
We received our car mat on 12 August, 2023. The whole process took 5 days which we think is fast since this period coincides with the online 8.8 sales.
Other Brands That You Can Consider With A Similar Price Range
We did comparisons of other car mat brands in the same price range as ENZO. And here are the reasons why we chose ENZO car mat over the others.
Bear in mind that our car model is a Honda Civic FE.
ENZO vs Trapo
How Trapo Car Mats Are Better Than ENZO Car Mats
Between ENZO and Trapo, Trapo offers more color lining options. But the only color that Trapo has that ENZO doesn’t is brown.
For us, this didn’t really matter since we knew we were going to choose all black anyways. An option that both car mat brands have.
Furthermore, you can choose to purchase just the driver side, or driver and front passenger side with Trapo. And hence, Trapo is more customizable that way, compared to ENZO.
Another advantage that the Trapo car mats have over ENZO car mats is their lighter weight. Because they are lighter, it is easier to shake and clean them out. ENZO car mats are heavier.
How ENZO Car Mats Are Better Than Trapo Car Mats
On the subject of pricing:
Trapo mats are more costly than ENZO. Especially if you choose their top-range car mat (TRAPO HEX).
And at the same price point as ENZO car mat, Trapo Classic still uses Velcro. Which we are not fans of since it can damage the underlying base car mat.
Moreover, you need to pay extra (RM199) to upgrade to their latest technology (Trapo Fix). And thus, the Trapo Classic with Trapo Fix will be more expensive than the ENZO car mat.
Another thing we appreciate about the ENZO car mat is the 5-year warranty. For Trapo, a 5-year warranty only applies for their top-range car mats.
Brand | Base Type | Warranty | Price, MYR* |
---|---|---|---|
Enzo | Non-Velcro | 5 Years | 309.9 |
Trapo HEX Ultimate | Non-Velcro | Lifetime | 735.8 |
Trapo HEX | Non-Velcro | 5 Years | 535.9 |
Trapo Classic + Trapo Fix | Non-Velcro | 1 Year | 549.8 |
Trapo Classic | Velcro | 1 Year | 349.9 |
Trapo ECO Duo | Velcro | 1 Year | 319.8 |
Trapo ECO | Velcro | 1 Year | 259.9 |
*Pricing above is based on Perodua Myvi (2017-Present) only front and rear car mats
But the main reason that we went with ENZO car mat for our specific car model is because ENZO car mat has a superior fit and a wider coverage than Trapo.
For instance, the driver-side ENZO car mat includes the footrest while Trapo car mats do not (for the Honda Civic FE model anyways).
Another example of this is that ENZO car mats cover right until the center console. While Trapo car mats stop short just before the console. This not only looks weird, but also doesn’t provide full protection for the top part of the mat surrounding the console.
ENZO vs Dodo
How Dodo Car Mats Are Better Than ENZO Car Mats
Compared to the design of Enzo car mats, Dodo car mats have one benefit:
For those that don’t want to see any dirt on their car mats, Dodo car mats have a dual-layer design (much like cat litter mats). And this effectively hides dirt that the mat catches.
In comparison, dirt will show up clearly with the ENZO car mats.
How ENZO Car Mats Are Better Than Dodo Car Mats
One of the reasons that we didn’t go with Dodo car mats is their shorter warranty period (3 years vs 5 years) compared to ENZO car mats.
And that they fix to your car with Velcro. Which we mentioned before, can potentially damage your car’s original mat.
There’s no anti-bacterial feature with the Dodo car mats. Besides this, Dodo car mats are hard and not very flexible. Which hinders how well they will fit the curves of your car’s interior.
Lastly, if you’re going for a sporty look, Dodo car mats have a limited color selection compared to ENZO car mats. Dodo car mats are only available in 3 colors – black, grey, or brown.
Conclusion
For the price we paid, we are satisfied with the appearance, build quality, and the precise fit of ENZO car mat. It stays in place too (even if we don’t use the clips).
Compared to a conventional car mat, it does a great job of collecting any debris you pick up from your shoes. We don’t have comments for mud and clay (yet) but it works for urban debris like pebbles, dead leaves, crumbs, etc.
PS: You might not want to get the ENZO car mat if you can’t handle heavy stuff.
