Ordering The Secretlab TITAN Evo 2022 Series Gaming Chair
We got our Secretlab TITAN Evo 2022 Series Gaming Chair from the official website.
The exact version we got is the regular-sized Secretlab TITAN Evo 2022 Series Gaming Chair in SoftWeaveTM Plus fabric in Cookies & Cream (with no extra accessories).
We chose this variant because we don’t plan to use the chair with the air-conditioning on.
And because it matches the minimalist interior of our home. Plus, we have cats and their fur will definitely show up on a black chair.
Note: The Batman design is by far, our favorite even if we’re not huge fans of Batman.
Delivery Of The Secretlab TITAN Evo 2022 Series Gaming Chair
It took roughly 3 working days for the chair to reach our home (via GDex) in Perak from the Selangor warehouse.
The box is unmistakably from Secretlab. It’s entirely black and has the name of the chair on it. And the whole package weighs a hefty 34.5kg so it’s best if you’re at home to receive it when it arrives.
A giant glossy card is the first thing you see when you open up the box, and on the other side if this card are all the instructions you will need to set up the chair.
Including a checklist of all the parts in the box.
Set Up Of The Secretlab TITAN Evo 2022 Series Gaming Chair
Everything including a small tool box is provided to make assembly as easy as possible. All the labels and stickers ensure a smooth set up process too.
It took 2 of us roughly 20 minutes (we were not in a hurry either) to set up the chair.
But because you have to attach the chair and the wheel base later on, you really do need 2 people to carry it or risk straining a muscle.
And if you want, you can use your phone (if it has NFC support) to scan the NFC code behind the chair and validate the authenticity of the chair.

Build Quality Of The Secretlab TITAN Evo 2022 Series Gaming Chair
The piston portion, backrest, seat, and wheelbase are the sturdiest parts of the Secretlab TITAN Evo 2022 Series Gaming Chair and rightfully so.
There are some parts (e.g. screw covers, levers, etc) that are of generic hard plastic but the numerous logo emblazonment and magnetic attachments of these parts make them appear and feel more premium.
Note: The subtle branding doesn’t stop there. In fact, it’s all over the chair besides the obvious ones on the front and back of the chair.
All of the components of this chair fit well and there’s no forcing in of any part. All of the magnetic components have more than enough strength to stick on where they’re supposed to without falling off.
We can’t comment on the faux leather variant of the Secretlab TITAN Evo 2022 Series Gaming Chair but this is what we can say about the fabric variant:
The fabric feels quite textured (I.e. rough, not smooth) and the workmanship is generally really neat and well done with uniform stitching and aligned corners, save for a few strands of thread that we promptly snipped off.
We have cats and we feel that the SoftWeave fabric will hold out even if they decide to scratch it.
Adjusting The Secretlab TITAN Evo 2022 Series Gaming Chair
There’s little need to consult the manual for this aspect of the chair:
There are two knobs (one on the right and another on the left) at the side of the chair to adjust the height and curve of the lumbar support. You can make adjustments while you’re sitting in the chair.
It does take a while to figure out the perfect position for the lumbar support but it feels great when you get it right.
The provided headrest is magnetic and only has a small area that it can stick on. So if you’re 5ft or shorter, the regular size of this chair has the headrest too high up.
This gaming chair is true to size so do double check the measurements before choosing a size.
Armrests can swivel at an angle to face outwards and inwards. And they can also shift out further or shift in closer to the seat. The height of the armrests can be adjusted as well.
We have to add that all of the adjustments for the armrests are very intuitive.
Adjusting the height of the chair requires you to pull the right lever below the seat of the chair. The left lever is for locking the tilt position of the chair if you feel like rocking at an incline.
How Comfortable Is The Secretlab TITAN Evo 2022 Series Gaming Chair?
For all our nit-picking with this chair, it does feel extremely comfortable to sit in. Both the backrest and seat are firm with substantial cushioning.
Note: If you prefer plush cushy chairs over firm chairs, you might find the Secretlab TITAN Evo 2022 Series Gaming Chair to be very firm and the SoftWeave material rough on direct skin.
Moreover, if you do have backaches, it feels a whole lot better to sit in this chair than a regular chair. This is frankly, our favorite chair in the house now.
We really like that the lumbar support is highly adjustable too.
In fact, the Secretlab TITAN Evo 2022 Series Gaming Chair now allows you to adjust the height of the lumbar support. This feature was not present with older versions of the gaming chair.
Note: Older versions of this gaming chair used a memory foam lumbar pillow to support the back.
However, when you are sitting in this chair, you can’t help but feel that there needs to be a foot rest. This is more obvious when you are reclining in the chair.
Note: We might get the foot rest if Secretlab ever makes a matching attachment for the Secretlab TITAN Evo 2022 Series Gaming Chair.
You might also want to turn on the air conditioning because this chair (even the fabric version) is not for tolerating the heat and humidity of Malaysian weather.
It does retain your body heat if you sit in it for a while.
Final Verdict For The Secretlab TITAN Evo 2022 Series Gaming Chair
So is the hype behind the latest Secretlab TITAN Evo 2022 Series Gaming Chair for real?
We had high expectations for this gaming chair especially at its premium price point. And we’re sure you do too.
Our final thoughts on this chair is that it is overpriced for a gaming chair. However, there are currently no other gaming chairs in the market that match the features of the Secretlab TITAN Evo 2022 Series Gaming Chair.
Note: There are some competitors following closely with themed designs and other smaller quirks though.
That said, the Secretlab TITAN Evo 2022 Series Gaming Chair is still a splurge-worthy product if you can appreciate the thoughtful overall execution as well as the consistency of small details (e.g. packaging presentation, ease of assembly, authenticity, etc).
It would make an impressive present for sure!
And at the end of the day, it is an extremely comfortable and well-constructed chair for long hours at your desk. We do think it will last for many years.
