This is not a sponsored review of the Dreame R10 Cordless Vacuum Cleaner. We bought the Dreame R10 Cordless Vacuum Cleaner during a big sale, and out of necessity.

While we just got it, we have already used it around the house. We do have 3 indoor cats so there is always fur lying around too.

Here’s what we like about the Dreame R10 Cordless Vacuum Cleaner (and what we don’t like about it).

We do find the Dreame R10 Cordless Vacuum Cleaner heavy. It weighs less than 2kg. Moreover, the extension rod is longer than what we are used to.

But if you previously had a Dyson cordless vacuum cleaner, the length should be about the same.

Assembling The Dreame R10 Cordless Vacuum Cleaner

All the attachments click into each other well. It is not a seamless fit but close. There are no sharp edges on this product. We really do like the smooth and rounded profile of this cordless vacuum cleaner.

You can fit any of the different heads (e.g., flexible combination tool, wide combination tool, motorized mini-brush, etc) directly to the main body or the extension rod if you want a longer reach.

If you have the floor stand, you can store everything neatly to use at your convenience. We got the stand as part of a limited set together with the vacuum cleaner.

And the stand does work with the included wall mount that comes with the Dreame R10 Cordless Vacuum Cleaner too.

Charging (& Runtime) Of Dreame R10 Cordless Vacuum Cleaner

The battery life indicator is on the side of the main body. It is not noticeable from far away since it doesn’t use any bright green or red LED lights.

Instead, there are 3 white LED lights in a row. If the battery is running low, only 1 white LED light will show.

Charging takes around 3.5 hours as stated in the manual. You can see the progress with the consecutive blinking of the lights on the battery life indicator.

Note: The 3 white LED lights will only stay on for 5 minutes once the vacuum cleaner is fully charged. After which, the vacuum cleaner will go into energy saving mode (i.e., no lights will show).

For our home of 2 stories, the runtime is not problem. The battery capacity of the Dreame R10 Cordless Vacuum Cleaner lasts long enough for us to clean upstairs, the stairs, and downstairs without rushing.

Even if we use the highest setting from time to time (to get rid of stubborn dust and pet fur).

Settings Of The Dreame R10 Cordless Vacuum Cleaner

The control panel is very minimal and neat with the Dreame R10 Cordless Vacuum Cleaner. At the top of the vacuum cleaner, there are 3 buttons for the 3 different suction strengths.

After you choose what setting you want, you can hold down the trigger to start vacuuming. Or push the lock symbol (Trigger Switch Lock) on the control panel to keep the vacuuming on hold (i.e., you don’t need to continuously hold down the trigger).

Alternatively, you can just keep the vacuum in lock mode (i.e. Continuous Cleaning Mode). And just give the trigger a quick press to start or turn off the vacuum.

The Dreame R10 Cordless Vacuum Cleaner does not have automatic dirt detection or a special carpet mode.

Vacuuming With The Dreame R10 Cordless Vacuum Cleaner

We find the first setting (the lowest setting) to be sufficient for cleaning our floors. It picks up dust, crumbs, pet fur, and long hair well. You don’t need to go over the same spot several times either. Once is enough.

For getting fur off wooden furniture though, the second setting is more effective.

The Dreame R10 Cordless Vacuum Cleaner is simple and intuitive to use. You can get away with not reading the manual. Especially if this is not your first cordless vacuum cleaner.

But there are some quirks like the button at the front of the Multi-Surface Brush that you might want to read about in more detail.

For windowsills and sliding door tracks, the Flexible Combination Tool and highest setting of the Dreame R10 Cordless Vacuum Cleaner is a great combination to remove stubborn dust and pet fur.

We find that the silicone extension of the Flexible Combination Tool is handy for rounded edges and corners. It is not flimsy but it does let some pressure from the vacuum escape.

The Multi-Surface Brush of the Dreame R10 Cordless Vacuum Cleaner does the job of cleaning our floor tiles and laminate floors. We don’t have any thick carpets in our home.

When we used the Motorized Mini-Brush on our 2-year-old mattress, we got quite a lot of stuff. We are assuming these are an accumulation of dead skin cells, polyester fibers, dust, etc.

As for the Wide Brush Tool, we think the bristles could afford to be stiffer, but the tool is good for covering a wider surface area or soft furniture (e.g., coffee tables, shelves, sofas, etc). Plus, it doesn’t scratch the furniture.

We noticed that with the Flexible Combination Tool, you do not have the option of removing the brush. Unlike with the Wide Brush Tool. So when a lot of pet fur or dust starts collecting at the brush, you have to remove it manually.

Emptying The Dust Cup Of The Dreame R10

The manual recommends emptying out the Dust Cup of the Dreame R10 Cordless Vacuum Cleaner before it reaches the Max level indicated.

Emptying out the Dust Cup is another no-brainer function of the Dreame R10 Cordless Vacuum Cleaner. However, because of the weight of the vacuum cleaner, you will need two hands to do so.

One hand to carry the vacuum cleaner, and the other to push the button that opens the lid of the Dust Cup.

Tip: Removing the vacuum attachments and Dust Cup from the battery and handle of the vacuum cleaner makes it easier to empty out the Dust Cup.

The force of opening the lid and the way the vacuum forms all the dust and dirt into a ball is usually enough to get everything into the bin. Without getting your hands dirt.

Maintenance Of The Dreame R10

Since the filter components are easy to remove from the Dreame R10 Cordless Vacuum Cleaner, it is easy to clean it out.

We have not tried yet but the filter components are also washable. Just be sure that they are completely dry before putting them back in. Otherwise, the vacuum will have a funky smell the next time you use it.

Note: We don’t have a need to clean ours yet as it is still new. The manual recommends cleaning all of these components every 4 to 6 months.

The roller brush of the Multi-Surface Brush is also very easy to remove. You don’t need any tools to get it out either. This will come in handy when long hair eventually accumulates on the brush.

Note: You can also remove the roller brush of the Motorized Mini-Brush in a similar fashion

It would be nice if the wheels at the base of the Multi-Surface Brush were removable too. But unfortunately, they cannot be removed.

Conclusion – Overall Review On The Dreame R10 Cordless Vacuum Cleaner

The Dreame R10 Cordless Vacuum Cleaner is as attractive as it is functional. Its biggest drawback in our opinion, is its weight.

So, if you’re looking for the lightest cordless vacuum cleaner in the market, the Dreame R10 Cordless Vacuum Cleaner is not for you.

However, if you’re someone that really appreciates beautiful aesthetics and high build quality, you will enjoy using and having the Dreame R10 Cordless Vacuum Cleaner in your home.

We would probably feel differently about it too if we had to pay full price for it. At full price, the Dreame R10 Cordless Vacuum Cleaner is considerably pricey when there are so many other options to choose from.
