Can’t beat those high ratings! Grab Food Delivery is doing a stellar job of keeping lockdown-frustrated Malaysians fed!
It may not surprise you that they have one of the biggest fleets for food delivery services in Malaysia! So you’ll seldom go hungry waiting for your food!
You can pre-order meals from a massive selection of different food merchants. As long as its within a 10km radius! The delivery starts from RM5 and up! Or free occasionally!
The GrabRewards loyalty programme keeps users coming back! Although the high services rates (up to 30%) can deter some users!
And if you ever need anything from their customer support, the response is quick!

2. Foodpanda
Did you know that Foodpanda started before Grab Food? They too, have a sizeable delivery fleet and have been operating for almost a decade, at this point!
The numerous restaurants listed in their app get the additional support from Foodpanda to improve their menus! And Foodpanda does not lock users to its app the way Grab Food does.
However, their service fees (per order) can be just as high. Although delivery is free for orders above RM25. You can opt to pick the food up yourself too.
If you order from Foodpanda frequently, prices can add up (more than dining out)! And not all their drivers are polite or punctual!

3. AirAsia Food
Recognizing and accepting the new normal early on, AirAsia introduced their food delivery service in May 2020.
The deliveries are limited to a 60km radius from where you live. And they have a few payment options. Like BigPay, AirAsia BIG Points (from their loyalty program), or by credit card.
If not for the lack of a tracking system, this is a promising wide-coverage food delivery service in Malaysia (Klang Valley and Penang at the moment) that includes fresh food delivery!
They do have one of the lowest service rates at the moment (flat rates or 10% service fee).
And they do online grocery delivery too!

4. DeliverEat
This food delivery service started in Penang, back in 2012. Now they offer their services in KL too. You can find almost the same variety of food merchants that is present on GrabFood. Within 7km anyways!
What’s nice is that DeliverEat lets you schedule food deliveries, right to your doorstep. And even combine orders from different restaurants (in the same premise) into one charge.
PS: They have local street vendors too!
Plus, you get to see when the food will be ready. As well as reviews from previous customers!
Payment methods include cash on delivery (COD), online banking, and credit card. If you use Touch N’ Go, delivery is free! There is a reward system in place for members too.
It’s not all rainbows and sunshine though. The service fees take 30% from the total charge. And some users dislike lack of support for complaints. And delays since their fleet is not very big.

5. Bungkusit
Bungkusit is an online food delivery service that covers Penang, Negeri Sembilan, Terengganu, Melaka, and Johor. Besides KL, of course!
In actuality, their Bungkusit also focuses on other services (e.g. groceries, packages, etc) that are commonly offered by the best delivery services in Malaysia!
They have a generous delivery radius of 30 to 500km. However, this does is affected by the availability of its drivers in the respective area.
Unlike other food delivery services in Malaysia, you do not necessarily have to pick food merchants that in their app (these are mainly Muslim-friendly options too)!
Just make sure you leave accurate instructions for your order!
Note: At the moment, cash on delivery is the only way to pay for your food delivery by Bungkusit. They’ll require RM100 one-time and upfront for service fees

6. EASI
You may have previously known EASY as hungry2u.
Their delivery services now extend to package deliveries in multiple states (Klang Valley, Melaka, Johor, Pahang, Penang, Perak, Negeri Sembilan). And even Sabah and Sarawak!
The user interface conveniently showcases the best items from each food merchant so you can find make decisions faster! There are many options so having reviews helps tremendously!
However, you can’t see the status of your order. And you’ll just have to assume that it’ll get to you in ~30 minutes or so.

When you can’t go back home, and you’re pining for some healthy meal options but don’t want to cook:
Hometaste is a food delivery service in KL that specifically caters to the desire for those home-cooked meals!
Their food merchants prepare the meals right in their own homes!
Do note that you have to order from the website. As Hometaste does not have an app! They do offer group orders, dinner subscriptions, and catering services as well!
And they have promotions for orders above RM60, and for first timers!

8. LOLOL
LOLOL makes food deliveries in KL, Selangor, Johor, and Melaka. In addition to its package deliveries. You can book reservations for restaurants too.
With LOLOL, you can schedule when to receive your meal (Or pick it up yourself)! Delivery fees and distance from your location (within 20km) are displayed on the Malaysia food delivery app too.
You can only pay via the app wallet or cash on delivery. Service fees are low at 3%! Look out for their promotions and vouchers and you can save more money!
Choices of food tend to be from local establishments (and predominantly Chinese) so watch out for those delivery fees!
That can end up costing more than the meal itself since there’s no minimum order required either!

Dahmakan goes by a new name these days, Pop Meals!
Their interface is very clear and attractive. And a breeze to navigate!
And all the food merchants that are featured on their website and app, are healthy and halal. And you can even filter out other dietary restrictions (i.e. certain meat).

EasyEasts start up is relatively new to other food delivery services in Malaysia, only starting in 2019.
They are also based exclusively in the Klang Valley, EasyEats has its own POS system (rose)! Which allows restaurants to accept online/ offline orders with ease!
The POS system collects useful data for restaurant owners too. Giving EasyEats a unique angle in the saturated food delivery industry!
Even if that was not the original plan – EasyEats was previously just for making reservations and skipping restaurant queues!
They’re still new and likely have some kinks to work out. And as of now, they have not imposed any limitations on the driving distance (e.g. between shah alam and klang).
You can’t order from the website directly, you have to download the user-friendy app! They have a decent selection of restaurants to pick from.

A 2018 startup:
HeavenEat is curated for the health conscious that are too busy to spend time in the kitchen! Whether you are a body builder or just someone trying to lose some weight through a carb-free diet!
The menu is divided into Chicken Breast and their Fitness Series. With ample portions and reasonable prices!
Note that they have limited delivery days, and recommend their customers to eat their meals within 2 hours of receiving them!
