Thinking of purchasing a new set of bedsheets?
The team from Joey sent us a full set of bedsheets (and a blanket cover) to try. And hence, this is our full review on the Joey Bedsheet Set in CloudBamboo™️ (bamboo sateen).
So while this is technically a sponsored post, our opinions remain our own.

Features Of The Joey Bedsheet Set in CloudBamboo™️
There are 4 main issues that Joey addresses with their Joey Bedsheet Set:
- Ease of putting on bedding
- Pricing
- How fast the sheets dry
- Commitment (i.e., Inability to try out conventional bedding in stores)
And according to Joey, the Joey Bedsheet Set is meant to be:
- Really easy to put on
- Fast drying (dries in 4 hours with moderate sunlight)
- High quality but affordable
Furthermore, you can try on the sheets for 99 nights before committing to them!
Other Features Of Joey Bedsheet Set
Here are some other notable features of the Joey Bedsheet Set. We especially like that the Joey Bedsheet Set is OEKO-TEX® certified!
- Bamboo sateen with 300 thread count
- OEKO-TEX® certified
- 360-degree elastic band all around the bed sheet
- Joey Corner label to indicate orientation
- Hidden labels (to avoid scratching your skin)
The blanket cover has loops and ties as well as a concealed zipper to secure the blanket in place.
While the bolster case is only open on one end to make it easier to cover your bolster.
Note: OEKO-TEX® certification represents the fact that the textile in question has already been tested for harmful substances to prove that it is safe for humans
Color Variations Of The Joey Bedsheet Set
For now, there are just a few color options available for the Joey Bedsheet Set but they are all very elegant choices for a bedroom.
- Cream
- Ice Blue
- Graphite
- Ice Blue Stripe (only available for Queen and King sizes)
We almost got the Ice Blue Stripe color variation because it is so unique and refreshing but chose cream in the end as that matched our bedroom interior (minimalist) more.
What’s In The Set (Joey Bedsheet Set in CloudBamboo™️)
Since we got the king size for our Joey Bedsheet Set, the following pieces were included:
- A bag to keep them all
- Bedsheet (Mattress cover with the 360-degree elastic band)
- 2 identical pillowcases
- 1 bolster case
Joey also sent us the matching blanket cover (this is an add-on option whenever you purchase the Joey Bedsheet Set) which we did not expect so alas, we don’t have a duvet to try it on (yet).
First Impressions Of The Joey Bedsheet Set in CloudBamboo™️
Branding is very consistent and the packaging is definitely amusing with all the sheet-related puns. This aside, the bedsheet set is securely packed without excessive use of single-use plastic.
Upon opening the set, we thought we had received a single sized bedsheet as it wasn’t as large as expected but that is only because of the 360-degree elastic band drawing the bedsheet corners in on itself.
There are some stray threads poking around the edges of the bedsheet but other than that, the overall workmanship of The Joey Bedsheet Set is good.
On one corner of the bedsheet is a helpful label for figuring out the orientation of the bedsheet. We really appreciate this thoughtful little detail since we always struggle to find the right orientation for our previous bedsheet.
It’s also easy to spot the label from the rest of the bedsheet because the label is a medium shade of blue.
What Does The Joey Bedsheet Set in CloudBamboo™️ Feel Like?
Before getting The Joey Bedsheet Set, we were sleeping on 100% cotton sateen sheets by Akemi.
And we can honestly say that the CloudBamboo™️ is significantly more lightweight and softer. It is very smooth to sleep on (300 thread count) and doesn’t feel scratchy on the skin at all.
In our opinion, the feel is similar to a 900 thread count cotton bedsheet.
However, the cooling effect is more or less the same as cotton and that’s great since we usually don’t sleep with the air conditioning on.
How Is The Fit Of The Joey Bedsheet Set in CloudBamboo™️? Is It Easy To Put On?
Again, there is noticeable difference in the fit of The Joey Bedsheet Set and our standard bedsheets from Akemi.
The 360-degree elastic band all around the Joey bedsheet makes for a superb fit on our king-sized mattress.
For your information, our mattress measures 72 inches x 76 inches and is 8 inches thick.
Pillowcases are standard size but there is indeed no chance of sleeping on scratchy labels or the pillows getting untucked during our sleep.
Putting on the bolster case is a breeze with just one end to worry about! Kudos to Joey for coming up with this simple but effective hack.
We have no comment on the fit of the blanket cover since we don’t have a duvet to try it on but we will likely update this post again when we get the chance to try it.
Is It Easy To Wash, Dry, And Steam?
There are thorough instructions on their website on how to best take care of The Joey Bedsheet Set.
We just put ours into the washing machine on a quick cycle with gentle laundry powder. After that, we hung it outside to dry. On a partially sunny day, it took around 2 hours for the sheets to dry.
Even after hanging them out, the sheets have a number of visible wrinkles.
If that doesn’t bother you too much, the snug fit of the bedsheet will probably reduce some of the wrinkles.
But for the sake of taking some nice photos of The Joey Bedsheet Set, we got out our steam iron to press the majority wrinkles away. It takes very little effort to do.
You can certainly spend your time with steaming the sheets but we just did 15 minutes of steaming for ours.
Furthermore, we don’t really care too much about the sides since they will be stretched out over the mattress.
Other Notes On The Joey Bedsheet Set in CloudBamboo™️
- If you happen to pick the cream color like (as we did) and you have a colored mattress, some of the colors from the mattress might show underneath the sheets. The sheets are a bit transparent since they are so thin
Overall Review
Pros:
- Attractive color options
- There is a trial period of 99 nights
- Free delivery across Malaysia
- Easy to put on with a great fit
- With OEKO-TEX®certification
- Comfortably soft and very smooth to the touch
- Dries quickly
- A full king-sized bedsheet set is reasonably priced under RM300
- Comes with a 1-year warranty
Cons:
- Wrinkles easily (but the wrinkles are easy to remove too)
- Slightly transparent (more so for the cream variation)
Conclusion
We do like The Joey Bedsheet Set and recommend it if you want a reasonably priced and good quality bedding set that is suitable for Malaysian weather.
The Joey Bedsheet Set is one of the best bedsheets in Malaysia if your budget is between RM200 to RM300 too.
The only real gripe with it is the inevitable wrinkles! So perfectionists, beware.
Otherwise, The Joey Bedsheet is a lovely affordable alternative to other types of bedsheets on the market. It’s nice to have the option of something different other than cotton (plus these have the OEKO-TEX®certification).
And if you personally hate changing sheets, you’re really going to like how easy these are to put on!
