One of the deciding factors that we got the Mi Vacuum Cleaner Mini Global Version for was its aesthetic appearance.
And since we’ve already seen other Xiaomi products up close, we expected it to have good build quality. It did not disappoint in both aspects.
The attachments are just as well-built as the main body. No rough edges and the gaps between the attachments and body are almost seamless.
What we did not like was that the attachments are not easy to remove from the body. You must use force to pull them apart.
But they are interchangeable – you can use them alone or as a combination together before attaching them to the main body of the vacuum cleaner.
How Light Is The Mi Vacuum Cleaner Mini?
As we expected (based on our previous experience with the Dreame R10 Cordless Vacuum Cleaner), the main body of the Mi Vacuum Cleaner Mini Global Version is heavy.
Your arm will tire easily if you’re doing longer cleaning sessions than just a couple of minutes.
How Versatile Is The Mi Vacuum Cleaner Mini?
The somewhat chunky body of the Mi Vacuum Cleaner Mini Global Version prevents it from getting into narrow spaces. But that is what the extender (crevice nozzle) attachment is for.
With the extender attachment (with or without the brush head), you can clean in between and underneath the front seats.
Another thing to note about the Mi Vacuum Cleaner Mini Global Version is the lack of a flexible hose which would be handy for round corners or very narrow spaces. The extender (crevice nozzle) is stiff.
And the fact that the brush head and extender (crevice nozzle) is not at an angle. You must tilt the whole vacuum if you want to clean at an angle. This limits what you can reach since the body of the vacuum is wide.
Performance Of The Mi Vacuum Cleaner Mini
Dust and pet fur on smooth flat surfaces are easy to clean with theMi Vacuum Cleaner Mini Global Version. And the lowest setting is good enough.
The vacuum is useful for cleaning the dashboard, aircon vents and most compartments at the front and sides of the car.
Note: Can’t comment for crumbs or bits of food since we don’t eat in the car.
But we find it disappointing that we cannot remove the stubborn cat fur that is stuck to the back of our fabric car seats. Even at the highest setting.
How Noisy Is The Mi Vacuum Cleaner Mini?
While it’s still new, the Mi Vacuum Cleaner Mini Global Version makes a pleasant light whizz on the lowest setting. It’s not loud but we expect this to become louder once the HEPA filter clogs up with dust.
In contrast, the highest setting is noticeably and significantly much louder than the vacuum at its lowest setting. It sounds like a little airplane if that makes sense.
Note: The highest setting has double the suction strength of the lowest setting.
Dust Capacity Of The Mi Vacuum Cleaner Mini
For regular upkeep or daily maintenance purposes, the 100ml dust capacity of the Mi Vacuum Cleaner Mini Global Version is sufficient.
But if haven’t cleaned your car in ages, you might need to empty out the small bin quite frequently.
The emptying mechanism for the Mi Vacuum Cleaner Mini Global Version works most of the time.
Occasionally, you will have to remove the filter by hand. This means knocking, probing, or manually removing dust and fur that does not fall into the bin when you open the dust container.
Battery Life Of The Mi Vacuum Cleaner Mini
Keep the vacuum running at the highest setting and the battery will deplete in no time (~8 minutes).
You can prolong your use of the Mi Vacuum Cleaner Mini Global Version if you have it on the lowest setting. We do find that the lowest setting picks up a lot of dust and dirt already.
Save the highest setting for really stubborn dirt.
Do mind that it takes close to 5 hours to fully charge the Mi Vacuum Cleaner Mini Global Version. So, if you’re planning to use it for a long cleaning session, you might want to make sure it’s fully charged.

Great build quality and strong suction strength are other reasons to get the Mi Vacuum Cleaner Mini Global Version.
But at this price point, it’s not as versatile (and hence, practical) as we would like.
