1. Viomi Alpha 2 Pro Robot Vacuum Cleaner
Viomi Alpha 2 Pro Robot Vacuum Cleaner (under Xiaomi) packs double the battery capacity of some robot vacuum cleaners in the market. The huge battery capacity enables Viomi Alpha 2 Pro to completely clean a 5-bedroom home in one charge.
What is the charging time?
It not only mops, sweeps and vacuums but the Viomi Alpha 2 Pro is also capable of emptying the bin on its own too.
There are four line LDS (LIDAR) sensors that prevent the robot vacuum cleaner from bumping into your furniture and other obstacles (including power strips) in your home. In fact, the vacuum’s obstacle library includes more than 150 common household objects.
Moreover, 360° scanning and accurate mapping along with sophisticated AI software allow the Viomi Alpha 2 Pro to “learn” and adapt to the layout of your home too.
Viomi has made improvements to the auto bin by shortening the air duct (by 60%) for efficient dust removal with minimum dust escaping. On top of this, there’s a triple filtering system.
Viomi Alpha 2 Pro has a dedicated app (Mijia App) where you can select whether you want the robot vacuum cleaner to mop or vacuum. You can use the app to customize a cleaning schedule, designate cleaning areas or no-go zones (i.e., virtual walls) in your home too.
But the Viomi Alpha 2 Pro can also be controlled by voice – either with Google Home or Alexa.
Given the price and features of the Viomi Alpha 2 Pro Robot Vacuum Cleaner, it’s a very appealing middle ground between a budget robot vacuum cleaner (<RM1,000) and premium robot vacuum cleaners (>RM5,000).

2. ILIFE V55 Pro Robot Vacuum Cleaner
For the same price as the Qihoo 360 C50 2in1 Vacuum & Mop Robot Vacuum Cleaner, the ILIFE V55 Pro Robot Vacuum Cleaner is impressive for its ability to mop and sweep simultaneously!
You may really like the ILIFE V55 Pro Robot Vacuum Cleaner if your previous vacuum cleaner struggles with long hair. Because strands do not get caught it this robot vacuum cleaner!
Tip: Clear the floor of charging cables before using this vacuum cleaner
However, it’s not the quietest model. The noise it makes can be heard from the next room. That does not include the occasional collision with furniture!
Plus, the suction power is only adequate for daily cleaning.
And there’s no phone app with this robot vacuum cleaner which means no real-time monitoring. Although you can still schedule it for daily cleaning with the remote control.
It does return to its station on its own for charging too. The actual run time is closer to an hour than the stated 2 hours so don’t get this if you have a larger area to clean. Otherwise, you’ll also have to refill the water tank every 30 minutes!
Moreover, if you have tile floors in your home, the mopping can leave some water marks! However, this is not an issue for wood floors.
We would still highly recommend the ILIFE V55 Pro Robot Vacuum Cleaner for those that have small but tidy homes and just want a simple robot vacuum cleaner to maintain the cleanliness. More so if you have pets!

3. Proscenic 830T Robot Vacuum Cleaner
Setting up boundaries is a little different with the Proscenic 830T Robot Vacuum Cleaner:
For additional cost (~RM60), you can get 105 cm of magnetic tape to use on the floor to block off areas where you do not want the robot to go.
Pet owners will be pleased enough with the powerful suction of the Proscenic 830T Robot Vacuum Cleaner:
It picks up hair, stray litter, sand, and even kibble as well as unseen dust!
That awesome power (2,000 Pa) comes with a tradeoff though! This vacuum is noisier than other robot vacuum cleaners. But bearably so.
Regardless, the vacuum cleaner is very easy to use. However, you do need strong home WiFi (not hotspot via phone) in order to operate it while you’re at work. Or to schedule cleaning and set up more no-go zones!
Note: There is also a remote control but functions are limited compared to the app.
One other great thing about this robot vacuum cleaner is that it will automatically find its way to its charging dock when the battery is low. Although this feature does not work so well during mopping mode.
Note: Charging takes 3 hours.
By the way, vacuuming and mopping are 2 separate functions for the Proscenic 830T Robot Vacuum Cleaner. Unlike with the ILIFE V55 Pro Robot Vacuum Cleaner.
Perhaps the most troubling setback of the Proscenic 830T Robot Vacuum Cleaner is that it cannot save any map that it generates! Which means you have to wait for it to map every time you want to use it!
Note: If this robot gets stuck, it will automatically turn off.
Furthermore, carpets are a major weakness for this robot vacuum cleaner! It is prone to getting stuck on them. Moreover, its side brushes may loosen, break or fall off. It doesn’t have a problem with wires though.
Downfalls aside, we still think the Proscenic 830T Robot Vacuum Cleaner is great for its price point (RM800) even if it’s not the most convenient to use. In a carpet-free home with pets, it’ll serve its purpose well.
Despite being an older model, the Proscenic 830T Robot Vacuum Cleaner is a worthy adversary to the newer and similarly priced Xiaomi Mijia Mop 2 that has a larger battery capacity (3200mAh VS 2500mAh) and higher suction strength (2,700 Pa vs 2,000 Pa).
However, if you really want simultaneous mopping and vacuuming, go with the Xiaomi Mijia Mop 2.

4. Xiaomi Mijia Mop 2
The price of Xiaomi Mijia Mop 2 is right between the Xiaomi Mijia 2C and Xiaomi Mijia 3C. And regardless of the name, the Xiaomi Mijia Mop 2 is capable of both vacuuming and mopping.
But where the more expensive Xiaomi Mijia 3C employs LDS laser navigation, the Xiaomi Mijia Mop 2 has vSLAM technology instead. LDS lasers are generally superior for mapping functions. As well as for setting up virtual barriers.
Note: But, because the Xiaomi Mijia Mop 2 doesn’t use LDS lasers, it can still go over black carpets or floors.
Another thing to note about the Xiaomi Mijia 3C is its higher suction power (4,000 Pa vs 2,700 Pa). However, the Xiaomi Mijia Mop 2 has almost twice the run time as the Xiaomi Mijia 3C (110 minutes vs 60 minutes). This it owes to its larger battery capacity (3,200 mAh vs 2,600 mAh).
On top of that, the Xiaomi Mijia Mop 2 has a larger capacity overall compared to the Xiaomi Mijia 3C (550ml and 250ml vs 300ml and 170ml for dust and water tanks respectively).
For a robot vacuum cleaner in this price range (RM800 to RM1,000), the Xiaomi Mijia Mop 2 has many desirable functions (e.g., cleaning schedule, automatic carpet boost during vacuuming, remote control, real-time monitoring, ability to adjust water levels, etc) through the MiHome app.
Vacuuming with this robot vacuum is not too shabby (especially if you don’t have too many carpets) even though mopping (despite the name of the robot vacuum) is not its strong point:
Mopping is pressurized without any dedicated vibration module.
And while the Xiaomi Mijia Mop 2 does its job fairly quietly, you’ll have to accept that it will frequently (and audibly) bump into things during the initial mapping out of your home.
To conclude, we really think that the Xiaomi Mijia Mop 2 is a worthy buy for small homeowners that just want daily upkeep. Plus, it’s a good budget model for first-time robot vacuum owners since it is easy to use!
- Run Time: 110 minutes
- Battery Capacity: 3,200 mAh
- Suction Power: 2,700 Pa
- Control: App
- Smart Home Compatibility: Amazon Alexa and Google Home
- Scheduling: Yes
- Climb Capability: 2cm
- Virtual Wall: Yes
- Size: 35.3 × 35 x 8.1 cm (L x W x H)
- Weight: 3.6kg
- Loudness: 60 to 73dB
- Dustbin / Water Tank Capacity: 550 ml / 250 ml
- Price: RM800 to RM1000
- Warranty: 1 year
Pros:
- Main brush can be removed for easy maintenance

- Pretty good at pickup up hair
- The quiet mode is quiet (60dB)
- Satisfactory cleaning and avoidance performance
- Large storage capacity for both dust and water
- User friendly app (even if you can’t read Chinese)

- No extra HEPA filter provided
- Need to remove hair from the side and main brush all the time (but this is easy)
- Suction power is not as high as stated
- Needs multiple passes over carpets
- Cannot detect (and so avoid) carpets when mopping
- Mopping is only for daily cleaning as manual advises against adding soap to the water tank
5. ECOVACS DEEBOT T9 Robot Vacuum Cleaner
ECOVACS DEEBOT T8 already impressed many but how does the ECOVACS DEEBOT T9 Robot Vacuum Cleaner compare?
Note: ECOVACS DEEBOT T9+ has the auto discharge station
For starters, the exterior hasn’t changed much between the models although T9 is now white instead of black!
With the T9, there’s an air freshener pod feature (pods sold separately) which is not nearly as interesting as the much higher suction power! This is double that of the T8 (3,000 Pa instead of 1500 Pa)!
Set it to vacuum or mop your house without worry as this robot vacuum cleaner can handle edges and carpets! Its climbing ability and object detection has noticeably improved from the T8 too.
You can leave the robot on its own most of the time with the automatic-emptying function. Although, this is costly to maintain with the single-use dust bags!
Do consider the ECOVACS DEEBOT T9 Robot Vacuum Cleaner if you want a truly intelligent robot vacuum cleaner that really scrubs at your floors!
Note: This robot vacuum cleaner uses single-use mop pads too – not environmentally friendly or economical; But it can use the T8 cleaning cloth too.
Because its mopping ability is one of the best in the market! As tested by techradar.com. The battery life will also suffice to vacuum larger homes too!
And if you’re willing to top up an additional RM500, you can get the auto-empty station too (ECOVACS DEEBOT T9+ Robot Vacuum Cleaner).
- Run / Charging Time: 180 minutes / 390 minutes
- Battery Capacity: 5,200 mAh
- Suction Power: 3,000 Pa
- Control: App
- Smart Home Compatibility: Amazon Alexa & Google Home
- Scheduling: Yes
- Climb Capability: 2 cm
- Virtual Wall: Yes
- Size: 35.3 x 35.3 x 9.3 cm (L x W x H)
- Weight: –
- Loudness: 67 dB
- Dustbin / Water Tank Capacity: 420 ml / 180 ml
- Price: ~RM2,199 or RM2,500+ (with the auto-empty station)
- Warranty: 1 Year
Pros:
- Accurately maps your home (multi-level mapping too)
- Very powerful suction –automatically adjusts power according to floor surface
- Long runtime
- Works with Alexa and Google Home
- Great companion app
- Good mopping performance and will smartly avoid carpets too
- Redocks on its own
- You can set up virtual boundaries
- Quiet relative to its power (around 60dB)
Cons:
- Improvements are not significant enough to upgrade from a T8
- Accessories (single use dust bags and mop pads) are costly to replace
- Air freshener feature is gimmick-y and a separate function from mopping
- Mopping is a little noisy (oscillation)
- Auto empty station can’t empty out hair so well (Applicable to T9+)
- Short warranty for the price
6. Roborock S6 Pure Robotic Vacuum Cleaner
Xiaomi’s Roborock S6 Pure has won many households over with its silent and exceptional performance as a dual-function robot vacuum cleaner! It can reach up to 2000PA!
When it detects a carpet, it will increase its suction power. Each room will be mapped out as it’s cleaning too – even the ones upstairs (i.e. multi level mapping)!
The more durable rubber brushes are removable and easy to clean. But best of all, this robot vacuum doesn’t need 3 hours to charge! Mopping is decent as well.
Promo video for the S6 Pure:
If you’re debating over the Roborock S6, S6 Pure or S6 MAXV:
All three are very similar in appearance and design. Although S6 touts 2 additional sensors over the S6 Pure. Which makes the S6 Pure a cheaper version of the S6.
However, the mapping capabilities of the S6 Pure are still good. And you will still be able to clean by room or set no-go zones, as with the S6 and S6 Max V.
While you will miss out on the superior performance (for mopping and obstacle avoidance) of the S6 MAXV:
The S6 Pure will serve and for much less too! Its vacuuming performance is comparable to the S6 MAXV!
For further comparison between these models, see the next item on this list, the S6 MAXV!
Overall, the Roborock S6 Pure Robotic Vacuum Cleaner is a great robot vacuum cleaner with dual function. It’s our pick for the quietest performance too. And it has one of the fastest charging times too which many newer models still struggle with!
- Run / Charging Time: 150 minutes / 150 minutes
- Battery Capacity: 5,200 mAh
- Suction Power: 2,000 Pa
- Control: App
- Smart Home Compatibility: Amazon Alexa & Google Home
- Scheduling: Yes
- Climb Capability: 2 cm
- Virtual Wall: Yes
- Size: 35 cm x 9.6 cm (W x H)
- Weight: 3.6 kg
- Loudness: 50 dB
- Dustbin / Water Tank Capacity: 480 ml / 160 ml
- Price: ~RM1,479
- Warranty: 1 Year
Pros:
- Hardly gets stuck
- Can set up virtual barriers
- Dust container can be accessed from the top
- HEPA filter that is washable
- Great vacuuming performance (also good at removing pet hair)
Cons:
- Relatively bulkier than other robot vacuum cleaners
- Will suck up small cables
- Small dust capacity
- Mopping isn’t as good as with S6 MaxV
7. Roborock S6 MaxV Robotic Vacuum Cleaner
At first glance, the high end Roborock S6 MaxV Robotic Vacuum Cleaner doesn’t look too different from the Roborock S6 Pure besides being black.
But it does have a faster processor! Other improvements include longer battery life and stronger suction.
And unlike the S6 and S6 Pure that only rely on LIDAR sensors, S6 MAXV has a camera at the front to further improve its obstacle avoidance:
This helps it avoid things lying around your home (e.g. shoes, wires, pet waste, toys, etc) significantly better than with the cheaper Roborock models!
If you have a larger home, you will appreciate the extra 30 minutes runtime you can get with the S6 MAXV! S6 MAXV also has a larger water tank (300ml vs 140ml for S6, and 180ml for S6 Pure).
The tank isn’t just larger but this robot vacuum cleaner supports remote control as well – it smartly distributes water and pressure. And you can control the water level with the app!
Scheduling by room for mopping (and vacuuming) is doable with the S6 MAXV as well. You can’t do this with the S6 Pure or S6!
Note: Works best if you have strong WiFi connection throughout your home.
Against the similarly priced (also costs ~RM2,000) and comparable model, Ecovacs Deebot T9, the Roborock S6 MaxV Robotic Vacuum Cleaner is a no-brainer for larger homes due to its larger dust and water capacity (460ml and 300ml vs 420ml vs 180ml)!
But if you really can’t live without a auto-discharge function, then it’s advisable to go with the Ecovacs Deebot T9+ (with the auto-empty station) instead even if it costs RM500 more.
Review video:

- Customize-able and intuitive app with many features like virtual walls and scheduling
- Long battery life
- Adequate dust and water tank capacity for larger homes
- Superb obstacle avoidance compared to lower end Roborock models
- Compatible with Alexa
Cons:
- Doesn’t detect all obstacles (cables lying flat)
- Expensive
- Does not avoid carpets (when mopping)
8. Roidmi Eve Plus Robot Vacuum Cleaner – Best Value Robot Vacuum
If you can afford to pay a little more than RM1,000, the Xiaomi Roidmi Eve Plus Robot Vacuum Cleaner mops, sweeps and vacuums simultaneously (or separately).
However, what sets it apart from the Xiaomi Mijia 1C Robot Vacuum is the automated dust collector which also functions as the home base for charging.
At this price, it’s great value for money and ~RM500 cheaper than the ECOVACS DEEBOT T9+ Robot Vacuum Cleaner with similar features (e.g., automated dust collector, voice control, same battery capacity of 5,200mAh).
Plus, the Roidmi Eve Plus Robot Vacuum Cleaner has significantly more room for dust and water too (3000ml and 250ml vs 420ml and 180ml).
However, the ECOVACS DEEBOT T9 Robot Vacuum has the higher suction power (3,000Pa vs 2,700Pa).
We did a full review on the Xiaomi Roidmi Eve Plus Robot Vacuum Cleaner and we think it’s worth its price! Especially for those that want to clean their home daily, but don’t have the time for it!
You will need a strong internet connecton to make use of all its Smart features though!
- Run Time: 230 to 245 minutes
- Charging Time: ~5 hours
- Battery Capacity: 5,200mAh
- Suction Power: 2,700Pa
- Control: App
- Smart Home Compatibility: Amazon Alexa & Google Home
- Scheduling: Yes
- Climb Capability: 2 cm
- Virtual Wall: Yes
- Size: 35 x 35 x 9.8 cm (L x W x H)
- Weight: 6kg, 2.7kg (dust collector)
- Loudness: >60 dB
- Dustbin / Water Tank Capacity: 3,000ml /250 ml
- Price: ~RM1600
- Warranty: 1 Year
Pros:
- Dust collector is automated and has a built in sterilization/ deodorization system
- Multi-functional
- Charges/ resumes automatically
- App is easy to use and allows you to monitor and set boundaries for the robot among other features
- Easy to maintain
- Comes with clear instructions
- With a HEPA filter
Cons:
- Not quiet
- Doesn’t have a camera to detect areas that require more intense cleaning
- Single use mop pads and dust bags are not sustainable
9. iRobot Roomba i7+
Forgiving that it does not have a mopping function, the very expensive iRobot Roomba i7+ offers near autonomous cleaning!
Including the ability to empty out its own dust container when it is full. But much like the ECOVACS DEEBOT T9 Robot Vacuum Cleaner, this is pretty loud process! And the i7+ will do that as often as needed to complete a task!
But if you’re someone who wants to make full use of the companion app, you will be pleased with the sophisticated UI and what is possible (Imprint™ Smart Mapping)!
The app allows you to do a lot more than scheduling. For instance, you can select rooms, and even set a time for how long the robot should be in the room! You will know the location of the robot if it gets stuck too!
And despite not having a LIDAR navigation system (it has its patented iAdapt® 3.0 Navigation with vSLAM® technology), the iRobot Roomba i7+ hardly ever gets stuck.
While the initial mapping is tedious, it remembers the layout of your house as well as obstacles. It’s not noisy and will be able to get the corners and nooks (I.e. under the bed) in your home too.
The transition between different surfaces is smooth. Somehow, it cleans carpets better than hard floors. But we don’t suggest the iRobot Roomba i7+ if you have a pet that constantly sheds long fur.
For hard floors, the brushes may fling debris around. So the robot needs multiple passes over the same area. If you have laminate floors, they may get scratches if you allow the rubber rollers to get too dirty.
Overall, the price of the iRobot Roomba i7+ is the biggest setback. And we would much rather spend our money on the Roborock S6 MaxV or ECOVACS DEEBOT T9 Robot Vacuum Cleaner (if we had a high budget)!
- Run / Charging Time: 120 minutes / 180 minutes
- Battery Capacity: 3,300 mAh
- Suction Power: 1,800 Pa
- Control: App
- Smart Home Compatibility: Amazon Alexa & Google Home

- Climb Capability: –
- Virtual Wall: Yes
- Size: 33.8 x 33.8 x 9.2 cm (L x W x H)
- Weight: 3.37 kg
- Loudness: 60-68 dB
- Dustbin Capacity: 295 ml
- Price: ~RM4,750
- Warranty: 1 Year
Pros:
- Empties the bin on its own – Fully automated vacuuming experience
- Easy set up
- Camera based system that depends on light (i.e. can’t run this in the dark)
- Bin/ charging dock is sleek looking
- Docks smoothly
- Entertaining UI and useful features on the seamless companion app
- Works with Alexa and Google Home
- Rarely gets stuck
- Good cleaning performance for carpets (not so much on hard floors)
- No LIDAR navigation but can still find its way around chairs and remember obstacles
- Can detect that its own bin is full and automatically return to dock to empty (or charge)
Cons:
- Filter to be replaced every 2 months
- Not great for homes with long haired pets
- Front of robot and furniture can obtain scratches over months of use (i.e. Aggressively bumps into furniture that it is not aware of)
- Audible at ~65dB but much louder when emptying dust container (~80dB)
- No maintenance alerts
- Rubber brushes need regular cleaning to avoid scratching floors
- Takes a long time to map
- No mopping function – Braava jet® m6 Robot Mop sold separately
10. Roborock S7 MaxV ULTRA
For anyone that has RM5,500 to spare, the Roborock S7 MaxV ULTRA is currently the best hands-free premium robot vacuum cleaner that money can buy.
Because it does everything – mop, sweep, vacuum, self-empty, etc. In fact, there is a separate auto discharge function for both the water and dust tank which is something no other model in the Malaysian market offers yet!
It also cleans the mop pads on its own!
That said, the docking system is kinda ugly, bulky and heavy (~10kg).
More importantly, Apple users will be pleased to know that the Roborock S7 MaxV ULTRA adds Siri to the Roborock list of compatible Smart assistants (Google Home and Amazon Alexa) too.
Another unique feature that comes with the Roborock S7 MaxV ULTRA is secure video streaming.
Additionally, the suction power of the Roborock S7 MaxV ULTRA is significantly greater than its predecessors too (5,100 Pa). With that veritable power though, you would expect the noise level to be high but it’s still considerably quiet (55 to 68dB).
And unlike the former Roborock S6 MaxV Robotic Vacuum Cleaner, the Roborock S7 MaxV ULTRA will avoid mopping your carpets!
But even the Roborock S7 MaxV ULTRA succumbs to exceptionally thick (I.e., high pile) carpets. Although there is a way around this with no-go zones.
Battery life, dust and water capacity are sufficient for most homes. And the cleaning prowess of the Roborock S7 MaxV ULTRA (both mopping and vacuuming) is just about flawless.
Besides this, the Roborock S7 MaxV ULTRA is very good at mapping and avoiding obstacles in your home. This is partially thanks to its dual camera set up.
However, common weaknesses still affect the pricey Roborock S7 MaxV ULTRA – most notably, corners and crevices that the robot vacuum cannot reach.
The price is ultimately the biggest disadvantage to the Roborock S7 MaxV ULTRA but if that doesn’t bother you, there’s nothing much else to complain about!
